GLAT - The Generative AI Literacy Assessment Test.
GLAT
- What it measures
- Objective / performance-based generative-AI literacy (a single latent factor); knowledge + judgement spanning understanding, applying, detecting, ethics, and evaluation of generative AI
- Length and format
- 20 (selected from a 25-item candidate pool; 5 dropped). 4-option multiple-choice ability; binary scored (1 = correct); 2PL IRT (performance/ability test)
- Language versions
- English only officially (authors flag multilingual adaptation as future work). Local-only draft translations (SR-Latin, HR, BS, NL, FR, ES, PT) exist in the AI-Literacy-Measurement project - draft, not validated.
- Normative data
- No normative data held in our reference library for this instrument. That is a statement about our library, not about the published literature.
- Licence
- open with attribution
Licence classification is a research judgement by the catalogue’s authors, not legal advice, and it can be out of date. Confirm terms with the copyright holder or publisher before using an instrument, especially for commercial use.

Choosing between this and the alternatives
We do not deliver this instrument. If you are selecting a measure for a research programme, a national survey or an assessment product, and the question is which instrument, in which language, against which norms and under which licence, that is the work we do.
