What it measures

Anatomically based description of visible facial movement, coded as action units and their intensity and timing, independent of any emotion interpretation.

Length and format

~44 action units plus head, eye and miscellaneous action descriptors. frame-by-frame coding by a certified coder, or automated coding by software (observational/coding system)

Language-independent by construction; the manual exists in EN with certification programmes worldwide
