- Early cognitive development from birth to 68 months across five scales - gross motor, visual reception, fine motor, receptive language, expressive language - with an Early Learning Composite from the four cognitive scales.

- 5 scales, ~124 items in total (approx). performance and observational administration, with caregiver report for some early items (performance/ability test)
- Language versions
- Administered internationally in research with locally translated instructions; formal adaptations exist in Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Arabic among others, but the 1995 US norms remain the reference.
