Clinician-rated core depression severity (apparent + reported sadness, inner tension, sleep, appetite, concentration, lassitude, inability to feel, pessimism, suicidal thoughts); designed to be sensitive to treatment change

Length and format

10 items. Clinician rating 0-6 per item, summed 0-60; bands 0-6 normal, 7-19 mild, 20-34 moderate, >=35 severe (clinician-rated/interview)

Most major languages; widely used internationally in trials (SIGMA structured interview in several languages)
