What it measures

Ultra-brief combined core screen for anxiety and depression: the GAD-2 (anxiety) and PHQ-2 (depression) items together, giving an anxiety subscale, a depression subscale and a total distress score (past 2 weeks)

Length and format

4 (2 anxiety + 2 depression). 4-point frequency (0-3), total 0-12; bands 0-2 normal, 3-5 mild, 6-8 moderate, 9-12 severe; subscale cut-off >=3 each (self-report questionnaire)

Inherits the PHQ/GAD multi-language set (many languages); German and US norms established
