Career Engagement Scale.
CES-Hirschi
- What it measures
- The degree to which a person proactively develops their career by showing self-directed, future-oriented career behaviors (e.g. career planning, networking, skill development, seeking feedback, voluntary further training). Unidimensional summary of proactive career behavior.
- Length and format
- 9 (unidimensional). 5-point frequency rating (1 = hardly ever to 5 = very frequently) (self-report questionnaire)
- Language versions
- German and English originals; validated Turkish adaptation (Korkmaz et al. 2020) and other translations; measurement invariance across gender and time
- Normative data
- No normative data held in our reference library for this instrument. That is a statement about our library, not about the published literature.
- Licence
- open with attribution
Licence classification is a research judgement by the catalogue’s authors, not legal advice, and it can be out of date. Confirm terms with the copyright holder or publisher before using an instrument, especially for commercial use.

Choosing between this and the alternatives
We do not deliver this instrument. If you are selecting a measure for a research programme, a national survey or an assessment product, and the question is which instrument, in which language, against which norms and under which licence, that is the work we do.
