What it measures

Foundational reading skills (letter-sound knowledge, phonemic awareness, familiar-word and invented-word reading, oral reading fluency, listening and reading comprehension) and foundational numeracy (number identification, quantity discrimination, missing number, addition and subtraction, word problems) in the early primary grades.

Length and format

Typically 6 to 8 timed EGRA subtasks and around 6 EGMA subtasks, adapted per language and country. individually administered oral one-to-one assessment with timed subtasks (performance/ability test)

Language versions

Adapted into 100+ languages across 70+ countries, each through a formal adaptation-workshop protocol.
