What it measures

Reading comprehension at grade 4 across two reading purposes (literary experience, acquiring and using information) and four comprehension processes, with home, school and teacher context questionnaires.

Length and format

Rotated passage-and-item block design; 12 to 18 reading passages per cycle. multiple-choice and constructed-response reading items; digital delivery since 2016 (performance/ability test)

Fielded in 50+ languages under IEA translation and translation-verification procedures.
